This month we are promoting Blanc de Blancs 99, a fantastic vintage champagne from the much respected House Pol Roger. Based in Epernay, Pol Roger relies on a good holding of a prime site vineyard, complimented by  long-term contracts with independent growers. Pol Roger has always had a strong presence in Britain thanks to Sir Winston Churchill who praised and loved them -  particularly the 1928 vintage.
We have also recently added a vertical from Egon Muller the top German producer who kindly offered us some from his personal stock.

RENAUD ROLLAND
SOMMELIER

Working together with Nigel Platts-Martin, the wine list is overseen by Head Sommelier Renaud Rolland. Renaud returns to The Square and brings a wealth of experience to the dining room having spent the intervening 10 years working in some of London's top restaurants. Calm yet immensely knowledgeable, Renaud and his team have all the resources to guide and provide wine choices for all tastes and budgets.

CO-OWNER

Nigel Platts Martin has been a co-owner of The Square since it's opening in 1991 and has put together what is widely recognised as one of the UK's greatest wine lists. He now oversees five of London's finest restaurants (The Square, The Ledbury, Chez Bruce, La Trompette and The Glasshouse) but his passion still lies in wine, with a particular interest in Burgundy and more recently Italy.
